MARKING A MOMENT

Giroux_UniversityClub3.jpg

marking a moment is a personal memoir of coming of age, artistic questioning, sojourning, and loss, created in collaboration with writer Steven Cheslik-DeMeyer. Chronicling the emergence of AIDS in New York City’s East Village in the 1980s, the text is comprised of two voices: Steven Cheslik-deMeyer’s reflecting on today and on our youth—set against the emergence of, and deaths of friends from AIDS—and my voice, from letters to him at that time.
